Default Pleased To Serve

PLEASED TO SERVE

Most of us have been to a restaurant or a store where the service was pretty awesome. The employees not only served us and gave us what we wanted but they also said or did things that told us they were pleased to serve. When we take on the attitude we are pleased to serve others we will find out how true it is. Serving others is a blessing and a pleasure. We may sometimes make excuses not to serve and it may be hard work but it is always rewarding with both immediate and eternal blessings. Even Jesus came to this earth to serve others and it pleased Him to do so and it pleased God He did.

SCRIPTURE: Mark 10:45 For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve others and to give his life as a ransom for many. (NLT)

ACTION STEPS:
1. List ways you have helped others.
2. Write down what you can do today to serve.
3. Remember to take pleasure in serving others.
4. Know it pleases God when you use your talents to serve.

PRAYER: Dear Lord, we have so many opportunities every day to serve others. Help us to have an attitude of being pleased to serve other people. We know You call us to serve as Jesus did. We know He came to this earth not to be served but to show us how to serve. Help us today to be like Jesus and seek out opportunities to serve others and to share His word. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

REMEMBER:

We are called to serve others as Jesus did.

If we want to please God, we are to serve others with a positive attitude.

When we are serving others, we are serving God as well. We should serve with joy and gladness.

Psalm 100:2 Serve the Lord with gladness; Come before His presence with singing. (NLT)

We all have gifts from God and strengths He has given to us. He calls us to use them to serve others.

FOCUS: 1 Peter 4:10 God has given each of you a gift from his great variety of spiritual gifts. Use them well to serve one another. (NLT)

God gives us spiritual gifts to use to serve others.
