Not only freedom from active addiction, but fee to be myself. I may think that my addict and alcoholic have the addiction, but we too have one, we are addicted to care-taking, fixing-up, and we live our lives through them and often put them between our God and His will for us. We enable them to continue using, and soften their bottom, so they don't hurt bad enough to quit and want recovery for themselves. We feel that they should recover for us; and we know what should means, we end up shoulding all over the place. As a result, our life is crap, nothing is changing, and it is ALL their fault.
