Default Losing Power

LOSING POWER

It has been said the more we try to hold on to something, the more we lose it. It’s true with people and with things. However, when we let go, we can have peace. Controlling others and trying to control situations will lead to problems. When we try to take control, we lose power. When we surrender and humble ourselves before God, we gain strength. We gain the strength from Christ who wants us to give Him control and give up our power so we can follow Him and do His will. When we surrender to Christ, we will gain strength from Him.

Philippians 4:13 “For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength.” (NLT)

Dear Lord, we want to lose our power today and submit to You. Help us to let go of what is hindering us from doing Your will. Help us to stop wanting to control situations and people so we can submit to You and gain Your strength. We love You, Lord, and want to do what You have called us to do. We know You have our best interest at heart. We surrender to You, today, Lord. Give us strength to do Your will and not our own. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

When we submit ourselves to God, what we want will fade away as we seek for His will to be done.

We can do few things with our own power, but we can do all things through Christ.

Doing what God wants us to do requires we stop living as we please and live to please Him.

When we try to control others, we aren’t allowing God to control us.

We should search for God’s strength and allow Him to work through us.

1 Chronicles 16:11 “Search for the LORD and for his strength; continually seek him.” (NLT)
