Default What To Give

WHAT TO GIVE

When most people think about giving, they think of money or some material thing. Giving isn't just about money or material things. When we want to know what to give, we should think beyond money sometimes and think about what we can give more of in our relationships at work, at home, in church and the community. When we ask what we should give, God answers that we must decide in our own hearts what to give. He says we should give our best and give it cheerfully.

SCRIPTURE:
2 Corinthians 9:7 "You must each decide in your heart how much to give. And don't give reluctantly or in response to pressure. 'For God loves a person who gives cheerfully.'" (NLT)

ACTION STEPS:
1. Write down the blessings you have been given.
2. List your top talents, strengths and abilities.
3. Ask God what you should give today that is your best.
4. Look for opportunities to give and to give cheerfully.

PRAYER:
Dear Lord, we have so much to give. We can look around and see so many blessings You have given to us. We want to be cheerful givers and give our best portions to You every day. We can give our best attitudes to those we love. We can give our best work ethic and energy in our jobs. We can give our greatest talents to our church or ministry. We can give our time to our community. Help us to remember to put others first and to give whatever the circumstance calls for. Help us be a mindful and cheerful giver. In Jesus' name. Amen.

REMEMBER:
When we give the best we have in our relationships, we will see a change in them.

When we give the best we have in our jobs, we will find more fulfillment in them.

When we give the best we have in our churches, God's work can truly be done.

When we give the best we have in the community, we can share God's word.

A cheerful giver who puts others first and doesn't keep their blessings to themselves spreads joy to those around them.

FOCUS:
Numbers 18:29 "Be sure to give to the LORD the best portions of the gifts given to you." (NLT)

Decide what the best is in each area of our lives and ask God what we can give to others that will bless them and glorify Him.
