Let Go Of The Past
Many times we hold on to our anger because we are holding on to the things of the past. We have relationship issues from the past that we can’t let go of. We have problems from school or work and we won’t let go. We have things from yesterday or years ago where we continue to run the sequence of events over and over in our minds causing us to remain angry about the situation. When we hold on to the past and continue to remember it, we aren’t allowing ourselves to enjoy the present and look forward to the future. Now is the time to get rid of anger. Let go of the past. Don’t put it off. Colossians 3:8 “But now is the time to get rid of anger, rage, malicious behavior, slander, and dirty language.” (NLT) Dear Lord, we pray You will help us to forget the past and forgive others as You have called us to do. Help us to begin now to put the past behind us and get rid of the anger we have because of a situation or a person in our past. We know we can’t move forward doing Your will until we let go of what is keeping us angry. Allow Your Holy Spirit to work through us to remove our anger and give us peace. In Jesus’ name. Amen. Every past hurtful situation will continue to bring anger as long as we hold on to it. Let it go. Anger only stays with us as long as we allow it to. We have the choice to forget the wrong things from the past and look forward to a better future. Holding on to anger because of what someone has done to us hurts us and those around us. There is no room for issues from the past when we fill our hearts and minds with God. 2 Thessalonians 3:16 “Now may the Lord of peace himself give you his peace at all times and in every situation. The Lord be with you all.” (NLT) Focus: We need to let go of anger from past situations so we can be a godly example to others. http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_pu...log_id=5972964
