What We've Got
Many of us wish we had a lot of things. We have lists of things we want to get. We have ideas of better and more organized homes, bigger cars, better jobs, etc. However, few of us have lists of what we already have. Not necessarily a list for insurance purposes. But more like a gratitude list. A list of blessings from God. When we list the things we have that we are grateful for, we will find that we have exactly what we need. SCRIPTURE: Psalm 109:30 "But I will give repeated thanks to the Lord, praising him to everyone." (NLT) ACTION STEPS: 1. Write down what things you have right now. 2. List the blessings God has given you. 3. Focus more on God's blessings than what you want. 4. Make a daily habit of writing down what you are grateful for. PRAYER: Dear Lord, we sometimes forget the blessings You give us each and every day. We sometimes get busy with our lists of things we want and we forget we already have so much. Remind us daily to remember the things we have that are from You. Remind us daily to stop focusing on worldly things but instead be grateful for what we have. In Jesus' name. Amen. REMEMBER: We really should make lists regularly of things we are grateful for and remember everything we have is from God. God wants us to be grateful for what we have rather than wishing we had more. When we stop focusing on what we don't have and start being thankful for what we do have, we will be a better example to others. There may be a reason we don't have everything we want. Could it be God wants us to be grateful for and use wisely what we have? God does not only want us to stop worrying. He wants us to thank Him for all we already have and for what He has done. FOCUS: Philippians 4:6 "Don't worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done." (NLT) Being grateful for what we have will help us be less focused on what we don't have. http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_pu...log_id=6291684
