Forgive and Show Gentleness
There are times when others do wrong to us intentionally yet we get upset. Then there are times when others do something intentional and we feel betrayed. They may not have meant to do it but it still hurts. What do we do when others hurt us? When others do wrong to us, we are to forgive them as Jesus forgives – over and over again – seventy times seven. When we choose to forgive, we can show gentleness to others as God has called us to do. Matthew 18:21-22 “Then Peter came to him and asked, ‘Lord, how often should I forgive someone who sins against me? Seven times?’ ‘No, not seven times,’ Jesus replied, ‘but seventy times seven!’” Dear Lord, help us to remember to forgive and show gentleness even when others intentionally do wrong to us. Help us to remember to forgive and show gentleness to those who sin against us seventy times seven as Jesus has called us to do. We may grow tired of their repeated actions and words against us but we know we are called to forgive and show gentleness to them. Help us to be strong and obedient as You have called us to do. In Jesus name. Amen. We are to forgive seventy times seven as Jesus has commanded us to do. When we are spending more time with God, it is easier to forgive those who sin against us. Showing forgiveness and gentleness toward others who have wronged us is what God calls us to do. When others do wrong to us, we are to forgive them. Every time. Learning God’s word is a good way to handle whatever life throws our way. When we meditate on God, it is easier to forgive others. Psalms 119:26-27 "I told you my plans, and you answered. Now teach me your decrees. Help me understand the meaning of your commandments, and I will meditate on your wonderful deeds." (NLT) Focus: Be ready to forgive and show gentleness to those who hurt you today by focusing on God. http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_pu...log_id=5941569
