God-Given Ability
God-Given Ability Read Exodus 30:11 through 32:35; Matthew 20:1–28 Each person has areas in which he or she is particularly talented. It’s not arrogant for a person to honestly assess what those areas are, especially when the person recognizes God as the source of the ability. When people understand their gifts are from God, the key question to ask is this: How does God want those gifts used? God gives people their personal strengths and equips them for the tasks He intends for them to accomplish. One of the most powerful examples of this principle comes to life in the narrative of the tabernacle’s construction as the Israelites journeyed from Egypt to the Promised Land. God equipped Bezalel so that Bezalel could oversee the tabernacle’s many-faceted assembly. “I have filled him with the Spirit of God, with wisdom, with understanding, with knowledge and with all kinds of skills” (Exodus 31:3). God offers to fill you with His Spirit, give you His wisdom, sharpen your understanding, and direct you in the knowledge and skills you need to best serve Him. Challenge for Today: Seek God’s direction for your life and trust Him to equip you.
