Prayer for Today - June 2014

Let us pray:

Lord, we give thanks
for all who have brought
life and happiness to us.
Inspire us to give of ourselves joyfully
and always look for the positive.
Amen.

Let us pray:

Lord Jesus, you overpowered
the control that sickness had
by curing people of their illnesses.
Those who were disabled
were freed to walk again.
You calmed the sea
and showed that you had control
over even nature.
You rose to a new way of living
and showed that not even death
had power over you.
With your power in our lives,
everything that happens to us
can be turned to good.
We ask you this day
to help us to transform our difficulties
and draw goodness
out of what is negative in our lives,
knowing that there is nothing
in life or in death
that can ever separate us
from your love.
Amen.

Lord Jesus, you promised
that when two or three
would get together in your name
then you would be present with them.
May your Spirit
lead us to grow more aware
of your presence in our lives

Lead each of us to live sincerely

to do the little things

because of the majesty of Christ

The prayer from the original source is not obtainable for today. Went to another site and found this. It says, "Unknown to God" at the bottom, but I am sure that is not true. It is unknown to me and I am sure it was unknown to the person who posted it, but I am sure that God knew who prayed to Him.

The Knots Prayer

Dear God,
please untie the knots
that are in my mind,
my heart and my life.
Remove the have nots,
the can nots and the do nots
that I have in my mind.

Erase the will nots,
may nots, and
might nots that find
a home in my heart.

Release me from the could nots,
would nots and
should nots that obstruct my life.

And most of all, dear God,
I ask that you remove from my mind
my heart and my life all of the am nots
that I have allowed to hold me back,
especially the thought
that I am not good enough.
