The Situation

Finding out the true nature of the very serious situation we find ourselves in is never an easy thing for any one of us to do and it brings out the worst in all of us when we have to do this. It can't be helped that this does this, but what can help us now after we've done this is knowing where we stand, so we can begin to take action and do something about the situation without us having done this there's nothing we can do about it. In recovery this is what it means to be powerless, when we don't want to see our situation as it is, just as we would like it to be instead. It's truly awful when we all do this because for as long as we do there is nothing we can do about our situation, and by doing this it actually makes things worse for us because we become stuck and aren't able to do anything. We've all put ourselves here, and have done this to ourselves, but there is a way out of all of this and it starts when we become willing to face up to the facts of this situation, and for us to see them as they really are. After we do this we all get the power to do something about this situation we're in. How very simple all of this is, but it's never easy for any one to do, but always worth it to us when we do.
