Default Power Source

God's Word For Today

Power Source

Read John 12:1 through 13:38

Imagine if people chose to ignore the advantage of electricity. How odd would it be if people walked around in their homes at night in total darkness, bumping into tables, tripping over a stray shoe or toy, when all they had to do was flip a switch? They may not fully understand how electricity works, but they cannot deny its benefit. Why would anyone not tap into its power? That may sound silly, but many have spiritual power available yet choose to walk through life blindly instead.

“I have come into the world as a light, so that no one who believes in me should stay in darkness” (John 12:46).

Jesus came to this world so people could escape darkness. His words, like electricity, shed light on people’s lives. They enable people to navigate through this sometimes dark world. People need not stumble around, without direction, bumping this way and that. God calls people to come out of the darkness.

Plug in to His power source. Allow Him to illuminate your life, your decisions, your dreams, and even your fears and doubts.

Prayer Suggestion: Jesus, shed Your light on my decisions today.

Quicklook: John 12:37–46
