Default Humbly Ask For Help

HUMBLY ASK FOR HELP

When we realize we are not capable of doing something alone, we need to ask for help. It may be a large project at home or at work. It may be something we just don’t have the skills to do. It may be something we don’t have the tools we need. Asking for help is not a sign of weakness but a sign of strength. That is why we should ask for God’s help every day in everything we do. When we humbly go to Him knowing He is way more capable of managing our day than we are, we can ask Him for what we need and trust in Him to help us.

James 4:2b-3 “Yet you don’t have what you want because you don’t ask God for it. And even when you ask, you don’t get it because your motives are all wrong—you want only what will give you pleasure.” (NLT)

Dear Lord, help us today. We know we shouldn’t manage our day without You. We know when we try to do things on our own, we are going to mess up. Remove the pride from our hearts. Remind us to have the right motives when we pray. Help us to remember to come to You before we do anything and humbly pray requesting what we need. Help us then to trust in You to give us Your answer. Help us to know Your answer may not be what we expected but it is the best answer for us. Thank You, Lord. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

If our motives are wrong when we go to God, we are wasting our time.

We need to be sure we go humbly to God and ask for His will to be done because He has the best answers anyway.

We don’t have to do anything on our own. God is always ready and willing to help.

When we go before God and ask for His help, we need to be ready to do His will and not our own.

Don’t be too proud to ask God for help. He always has the best answer and approach to all situations.

James 4:15 “What you ought to say is, ‘If the Lord wants us to, we will live and do this or that.’” (NLT)

Focus: Whatever the situation, God can help. But we need to be sure our motives are right and humbly go before Him when we ask.
