Default Are you happy? How long does your happiness last?

The poor will eat and be satisfied. All who seek the LORD will praise him. Their hearts will rejoice with everlasting joy. (NLT) Psalm 22:26

Are you happy? How long does your happiness last? We can eat an endless buffet, stomachs bulging, but in a mere couple of hours we are hungry again. Isn't it true with happiness? We seek out things we think will make us happy like friendships, money, or even recognition, but that type of happiness never lasts. How can we find this everlasting joy? It comes through praising God. Have you been praising God lately?

You are as happy as you make up your mind to be. It isn't something to be obtained, it is something that is given.

I am responsible for my own happiness, happiness comes from within.

I can be happy for others, but that doesn't make them happy. Someone can be happy for me, that doesn't make me happy, I have to choose to be happy for myself.

As they say, "This too shall pass!" That means happiness as well as sadness, it is okay to be both, feel the moment and let it go. It will come again.

Not sure we can talk our way into it, but maybe we can think our way through it if we put our mind in the right place.
