SERVE OTHERS

Many times after we spend time helping others, we have a great feeling. When we share with them what we have, when we give to them or when we just help them out, we walk away feeling good that we were able to help. Why is that? It’s because we were doing what God called us to do. We were feeding off the will of God. God tells us we will be nourished when we do His will. That’s why we feel good and our lives feel complete when we follow the will of God and serve others.

SCRIPTURE: John 4:34 “Then Jesus explained: ‘My nourishment comes from doing the will of God, who sent me, and from finishing his work.’” (NLT)

ACTION STEPS:
1. List what you have done to help others.
2. Write down what you have right now you could give.
3. Know God wants you to do His will.
4. God has work for you to do today. Step out and obey.

PRAYER: Dear Lord, we want to follow Your will. We want to be good, love others and help others. Show us ways to serve today. There are many opportunities out there right now. Remind us of our talents, abilities and skills where we can step up and help others. Show what material things we have that we can give to help. We know You created us to give and to love. Help us to act on that opportunity today. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

REMEMBER:
If we want to be truly nourished, we need to get into God’s word.

Deuteronomy 8:3b “people do not live by bread alone; rather, we live by every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord.” (NLT)

When we do the will of God, we will be nourished.

John 4:34 “Then Jesus explained: ‘My nourishment comes from doing the will of God, who sent me, and from finishing his work.’” (NLT)

We should seek the nourishment that comes from God if we want to be truly fed.

FOCUS: 1 Peter 2:2b-3 “Cry out for this nourishment, now that you have had a taste of the Lord’s kindness.” (NLT)

Doing God’s will provides us nourishment for our lives.
