MOVING AHEAD

Many of us want to progress in our jobs. We would love to make more money and maybe have more responsibility. Some of us want to be the boss one day. However, we need to be careful about wanting what others have on the job. Sometimes the grass isn't always greener in the other job. Sometimes our thoughts take over about how another person is working and we want to be like them. God tells us to keep our thoughts on Him and to work only for Him.

Romans 12:2 "Don't copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God's will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect." (NLT)

Dear Lord, we know we sometime want more in our jobs. We sometimes become complacent with what we are doing and feel we aren't making enough money. Help us to be content with what You have blessed us with. Remind us we need to focus on doing our job well in our current position before we can move to another. Help us remember we can truly enjoy our work when we remember we are working for You and not man. In Jesus' name. Amen.

We should do the work required of us every day and stop worrying about what others are doing.

When we focus on getting our work done, we won't have time to wish we had someone else's job.

We can enjoy the work we do when we pray and thank God for each aspect of our work.

Our jobs are a blessing from God. He wants us to work willingly at whatever we do.

God wants us to do our work as though we were working for Him rather than people.

Colossians 3:23 "Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people." (NLT)

Focus: We should focus on and use the blessings from God each day in our jobs and stop desiring more worldly gains.

We stay sober and clean together - one day at a time!
